이 책에는 내가 겪은 '실내환경'에 대한 이야기가 가득하다. 그러나 무슨 정보를 제공하거나 하는 목적이 아니라 그냥 내가 하고 싶은 이야기를 제재 없이 자유롭게 하고 싶어 '잡담'이라 이름 붙였다. 엉뚱하고 심각하고 생소하고, 더러는 충격적일 수도 있을 것 같다. 어떤 이유로든 이 책을 붙든 독자께서 술렁술렁 어렵지 않게 책장을 넘기며 한순간씩 '아, 그렇구나, 저렇구나' 하고 고개를 끄덕이실 수 있다면 참으로 행복하겠다.
